CENTURY SINO-TIBETAN BLACKENED BRONZE FIGURE MAHAKALA WITH FLAMING MANDORLA SIGNED TO BASE. Coming in three joined parts, on offer is a superbly cast 19. Century (or perhaps early 20th Century) sino-tibetan bronze figure of MAHAKALA. Seated on a lotus plinth with claw fingers, showing teeth with snake round his neck. Backed by wonderful flaming mandorla. Base with double vajra mark. If that was not enough! There is also a mythical animal foo dog? Appearing from below his backside to offer a wonderful comic element. May have been originally gilded? Similar example referenced in final photo.
